The mind is the most important tool and asset of a man. It is the best computer ever built. However the performance of this processing mechanism is determined my what we put into it. Like a farm, it only produces what is planted into it. If you plan weed you cannot but harvest weed! 
Many people have been conditioned to think the wrong thoughts because of wrong associations. It is not uncommon to find nice people with the best of intentions moving in the wrong direction, doing the wrong things because of trash that has been fed into them.
If you want to go far in life you must be feeling your mind with positive, nourishing and balance mental diet. Good food are not found in trash can , they may look appealing but they contain poison. 
Sadly many out of ignorance, indiscipline and the likes are found feeding their mind with garbage. It’s amazing how many spend fortune to buy negative news, gossip, scandal and hearsay instead of things that build, strengthen help and encourage them to become better. Material and people that tells you only what is wrong with you , others and your world are not treasure. Good company does not devalue the thought of men, neither does it reduce their level of worth and dignity. Friends who are always complaining that things are bad are the worst types of friends to keep around.
To move forward in life develop the habit of reading! Reading will enlighten, polish, update, and upgrade the quality of your thinking to a level were you will respond positively to truth not just facts. Remember our decision in life determined our destiny. It’s impossible to make the right choice outside knowledge! (WRONG INFORMATION CAUSES CANCER OF THE CONSCIENCE)
think of this👉 How many value has been added to your life by the friends and people you associate with? Is your life changing for better because of the friends or changing for worse? If you continue moving with those friends and people you keep around you will you achieve your dreams? 
The kind of people you are friends with determines the way you think.
